Croeso! It’s August 1st 2025 and so it’s time for an ArtStudioCB blog post!
July was an exciting month for me at ArtStudioCB. I completed a two week artists intensive with Rhondda Cynon Taf Councils Art Service.Â
It was an opportunity to meet fabulous artists whose own practices I found inspiring. I learned more about the region of Rhondda Cynon Taf, the Welsh language, and have signed up to a Welsh learners course with learnwelsh.cymru

As a result of the artists intensive course, I’ve decided to move in a specific direction with my art practice. That is, I want to make creative items that solve problems, even if they’re simple problems.Â
I’ll be looking to create a collection of creative items that are solutions to different challenges. Working with difficult subject matter lends itself to problem-solving.Â

I love gardening but I often forget how it’s done, for example. I upcycled a plant pot with gardening instructions stenciled onto it which solves this problem. It was immensely satisfying to be creative in this way.Â
The online video course I’ve promised is nearly ready to be purchased, and should be available in the next few days. There have been a number of technical issues trying to make this course available, but it’s almost completed. Subscribe to my newsletter for updates on this and more.
Along with the video course the Vagary art collection will be online and for sale in the next week.
The ArtStudioCB stall at Aberdare Market has had a great start, with visitors, creative workshops, and customers purchasing crafts all happening. Thank you so much for your support!
