Welcome to January’s post from ArtStudioCB. Happy New Year! I hope you’ve enjoyed the festive season, and if not so much, that 2025 brings new opportunities.
My film ‘Sanctuary,’ won in the Short Film category at the Bangkok Movie Awards. This was both an honour and a surprise. Writing the script, performing, and directing the film myself- and shooting it on my mobile phone: I entered it into film festivals to get it seen and accept any feedback that came with it. Having it accepted was the goal and the risk. To win an award was fantastic, and a real boost. It has encouraged me to make more short films, but also given me a sense that experimentation is rewarding.
Vagary Exhibit and Patreon Re-Launch
The ‘Vagary,’ exhibition was held in the Metaverse at Circular Artspace, Bristol in November. The exhibit had over hundred visitors, and it was brilliant to move through the virtual space and meet other avatars.
I’m keen to start working in immersive arts, and so this was a great introduction to exploring my art in virtual reality. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
A product catalogue of ‘Vagary’ is now available, and would make an ideal memento from the project.

'Where I Belong,' Comic Published
I was unwell just before the Christmas period and spent a lot of time at home, which is when I decided to finish a comic book that I’d had in my head for ten years.
‘Where I Belong,’ is a comic about Clara, who dreams of a brighter future, but the universe may be conspiring against her.
Creating the comic meant I had to accept the story that I had in my head as the real deal, as the idea hadn’t left me in all this time.
