Hello and welcome to November’s blog post from ArtStudioCB! I hope you’ve had a great October, and thoroughly enjoyed Halloween if you celebrate the occasion.

Vagary Exhibition In The Metaverse

Updates this month from ArtStudioCB include a new exhibition in the Metaverse with Circular Artspace, Bristol. I haven’t held an exhibition in virtual reality before and I’m excited! This will be an opportunity for viewing the Vagary project, particularly if you’re not physically able to visit the exhibition happening here in Aberdare next April. You can view the exhibition from your phone, laptop, or desktop and you don’t need a virtual reality headset. There will be a launch event which you can attend, and I hope to see you there! The exhibition starts 2nd December and runs till the 15th.

‘Sanctuary’ Selected for Film Festival

Other updates include having my first short film ‘Sanctuary’ selected for the Lift-Off Global, First Time Filmmaker Sessions. This is a peer to peer reviewed festival of first time filmmakers work with awards being made to shortlisted films. ‘Sanctuary’ was a script that I had sat on my shelf for three years, then in one day I made the film with a budget of less than £100. Those creative ideas that sit in our imaginations need attention, and they will nag us if they’re good ideas. Ultimately, I had to get this project to find out what making a short-film was like. To be selected is an experience, and do hope audiences will enjoy it. I’ll learn from it either way!

Art Tour South To West Wales

I’m also organsing an art tour from South Wales to West Wales for summer 2025. There is a fundraiser for the project. These are difficult times, so please only support me if you wish to. Support could be simply sharing the project page. I aim to travel across Wales, exploring art and the region, running creative workshops, exhibiting, and writing about my experiences.
