Hello, and happy December! It’s the first of the month, so it’s time for another blog post from ArtStudioCB. Last month I stated that I would be taking a short break from art making, and that’s what I’ve done. A few weeks away from making art has been beneficial. I feel reinvigorated. However, I’m keen to get back to my art practice.
Exploring other creative forms, I spent time knitting over the three week break. It has been wonderful to work with Welsh wool, and spend a good time knitting. It’s something I want to develop further, as I feel a slow craft would be great to adopt.
In the last week, I’ve also started making paper, which is something I haven’t done since college, but is incredibly satisfying to do. I want to work with procion dyes to create different coloured papers, and print on to them etc.
December is a time of year I enjoy. I love the spirit of the season, the festive atmosphere, the merriment to be had. I also understand it’s a difficult time of year for so many. I try to make the most of Christmas because I had a bad Christmas one year, and I’m now determined to make it my own. Whatever the case, I’m wishing you a peaceful Christmas and I will be back 1st January with new developments in my art making.
Merry Christmas and a happy New Year!
